graciouswords:

NO REGRETS

Jumping to conclusions

she regrets the words she speaks

his absence makes her insecure

acceptance she does seek

Her feelings flood across the page

she hopes they’ll soon be heard

but with every passing minute

she rues that she has shared

the deepest secrets of her heart

the way he makes her feel

with no reply she hates herself

her thoughts she can’t conceal

but little does she know

he just cannot reply

he’s viewed her words his heart now touched

he wants her but he’s shy

He wants to say he loves her

and show in every way

just how much she means to him

he wants to make her day

so, with pen in hand and paper fresh

he scribes his thoughts in ink

his heart bleeds out across the page

now maybe she’ll rethink

and know he heard her message

and know he feels the same

her words have set his heart alight

with an ever burning flame
